AMERICA PART VII-II

HEYO happy easter! I didn’t do much during this 3 day long weekend because I fell ill, but I did eat some chocolates today because YOLO

Image

So back to this gigantic sweet shop, there was also a Lab area that sold all sorts of gross insect candy and Mummy skin which turned out to be seaweed. Can’t trick an Asian.

Image

THERE WAS A WONKA CHOCOLATE FACTORY AREA OMGGG dies a little~ AND I MET WONKA AND HE GAVE ME CHOCOLATE he looked so real it freaked me out a little but the candy here looked all so pretty and chemically good!

Image

being the excited little kids we were, my sister and I both got two paper bags full of candy of lots of different colors and ughh there were soooo many to choose from and they all looked so good! I also bought that candy in the picture just because Annabelle’s!!! future career option?:D FYI saltwater taffys with nice names and beautiful colors do not necessarily taste good.

Do you see the Hollywood sign in the distance? So surreal!!

Image

After visiting Hot Topic, we made our way to Grauman’s Theater (TCL Chinese Theater) This is the place where celebs have their handprints pressed into cement slabs. They change the slabs every so often, depending on which celeb is currently trending. Legendary celebs remain there.

Image

This is where people place their hands in to cement holes and say “I’ve touched {so and so celebrity}”. Btw these are all legit!

Image

The coolest flight of stairs next to TCL Theater! When you step on the step, the corresponding note will play magically! We ran up and down in several times in order to play a chromatic scale. (much exercise)

Image

The Hollywood Walk of Fame!

Image

Vodka has their own star too! And Mickey Mouse and Shrek too!

Image

That was about it to Hollywood. Also, there were a lot of weird people around Hollywood, like this man wearing beige skin tight leotards belting out Born This Way really badly. And mascots that look like they had too much meth. Hollywood wasn’t what I expected it to be but it was definitely an eye-opener and most attractions was what I imagined it to be. We decided we had enough crazy that night so we returned to our all familiar Korea town to have comforting asian food.

That was about it for Christmas Eve! Christmas Day was a lot more eventful as we spent it in Universal Studios and I touched real snow!!! I had a bit of fever that day though.

See y’all soon!

Stranger

This afternoon was one of the lowest points of my life because there were some problems in the family, hence I spent my whole afternoon crying and wallowing in self pity. After which, I gathered myself and went to Esplanade for Pieces Croisees (interesting music btw).
On my way back in the evening, it was pouring and Dad had offered me fetch an umbrella for me. I stood at the sheltered walkway across my condo and waited. I glanced around and spotted this girl my age in a maroon class tee with her father, who also came to deliver an umbrella. She walked to my condo gate and stopped, discussing something with her Dad. I turned my attention elsewhere.
Then, I felt a tap on my shoulder; it was that girl. She smiled and offered to share the umbrella with me and I asked if I was going to that condo to. I know this sounds like some cheesy model essay, but that is really what happened. I declined and before I could say thank you, she ran back into the rain to her father. I was quite taken aback because it has been a while since a stranger has touched my heart.
I realised that despite how sad and how horrible my life that afternoon, there was so much more I could do in life and I could very well spend my time helping others instead of wallowing in self pity. I want to thank her not only for her kind act but also for reminding me what life actually is about amidst my flurry of issues.
Thank you.

Not So April Fool

It all began when JY was acting super suspicious and her words were literally all jumbled up (tough for someone who cannot keep secrets) during recess. She kept insisting that we had to visit the batik booth first then eat, but then she dragged me to eat right after we entered the canteen (what). Then JR appeared out of nowhere and then floated off somewhere so we ended up sitting alone behind a pillar. God knows
what lies behind the pillar.
It was until a while later when JY went to buy drinks that I realised that all my friends were behind the pillar doing something mysterious. I thought I saw a candle but I didn’t think it was for me since JY told me cal and her were pranking chey that day.
Chey then carried my plate of food to their table and VOILA THERE WAS A LIGHTED CAKE AND A BALLOON AND THE SMUG FACES OF MY FRIENDS!!! I NEARLY CRIED BCOS I WAS SO TOUCHED ASDFGHJKL

image

I genuinely did not expect a surprise like this because they really hid it so well and I didn’t think they loved me this much 😂😂😂

image

And yes they smeared cake and stuck pieces of chocolate on my face. I feel an incoming wave of pimples.

image

And yes JY tangled the balloon into my pinafore.

Birthday boy balloon!!! (ps I am a girl)
